Mr. Bliss serves as the Vice President and General Counsel of PracticeProtection. Mr. Bliss is a licensed Florida attorney with extensive criminal and civil litigation experience that he brings to PracticeProtection. Furthermore, he has years of prior professional liability insurance experience at MedMal Direct Insurance Company, where he developed and oversaw the claims department, performed multiple in-house legal functions, and engaged in underwriting as well as supervising underwriting quality control. Mr. Bliss holds bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science and History from Duke University as well as a J.D. and MBA from the University of Florida. Mr. Brown is an independent consultant with nearly 20 years of insurance industry experience – including experience with captive insurance companies, traditional P&C insurance companies, and regulatory authorities. Mr. Brown spent nearly a decade as a Financial Analyst in the Office of Insurance Commissioner for the State of Georgia – monitoring a number of risk bearing entities ranging from multi-billion dollar international reinsurers to rural Provider Sponsored Health Care Corporations.  Leaving the regulatory sector in 2007, Mr. Brown served as the Chief Financial Officer of an independent Captive Management firm responsible for the management and the administration of several physician-owned medical professional liability captives and risk retention groups.  Additionally, Mr. Brown served in various capacities, including Chief Financial Officer, of MedMal Direct Insurance Company, a medical professional liability insurer focused primarily on independent physician practices located throughout the Southeast and Midwest.  Most recently, Mr. Brown served as the Chief Financial Officer of American Integrity Insurance Company of Florida (“AIIC”).  AIIC is a Florida-domiciled homeowners’ insurance company which wrote approximately $265MM in premium in the Florida marketplace in 2016.
